PLAYER REACTION: Praise aplenty for fantastic away following

Despite Peterborough United losing their perfect record yesterday, there was still plenty to be cheerful about.

The Posh left the Keepmoat Stadium with a point after a stalemate with Doncaster Rovers, drawing their first blank of the season.

However, Grant McCann’s side remain top of the table after five games played and his players were quick to acknowledge the impressive turnout in the away end, as 1,696 supporters made the trip to South Yorkshire.

A second consecutive clean sheet for Posh in the space of four days, which goalkeeper Jonathan Bond was happy with, but he commended the Posh support.

In-form Jack Marriott couldn’t find a way through to add to his current tally, but was eager to applaud the Posh faithful.

A well-earned point away to a newly-promoted side is what Gwion Edwards thought of the result as he gave a certain wish to all those travelling.

Danny Lloyd felt the fans were of “different class” yesterday afternoon, which full-back Liam Shephard also applauded.

Although not total skipper’s delight with the outcome, there was still a sense of joy for those behind the goal.

One of the shining jewels in the Posh crown, Marcus Maddison, felt it was a “hard-fought point” after his first game since penning a new three-year contract.

And a word of advice to all aspiring professional footballers out there who wish to make their debut earlier than planned. Step forward, Ricky Miller.
